Achenkirch lies in the Austrian province of Tyrol, right on the shore of the biggest and most beautiful lake in Tyrol by the name of Achensee. We are located at 950 meters above sea level. roughly 60 km from Innsbruck and 80 km from Munich, Germany.
By car
Coming from the direction of Munich, you can reach us through the Tegernsee valley and thus avoid having to pay the Austrian autobahn toll charges. Take the A8 autobahn as far as the Holzkirchen exit, then continue past lake Tegernsee and over the Achenpass, across the border between Germany and Austria, finally arriving in Achenkirch.
Coming from the direction of Salzburg on the A8 and A12 autobahns, from Italy on the A13 and A12, or from Switzerland, follow the Inntal Autobahn as far as the exit for Wiesing/Achensee. From there, take the Achensee Bundesstrasse (B181) to Maurach, then continue past lake Achensee until you reach your final destination.
By air
The nearest airports are in MUNICH, Germany (ca. 120 km) and in INNSBRUCK (ca. 60 km). We would be glad to help you organize a transfer from either of these airports all the way to our front door.
By rail
The nearest train station is Jenbach in Tyrol (ca. 20 km). In this case, too, we would be happy to help you find transportation that best meets your needs. A small tip: If you are looking for a transfer to Achenkirch, consider taking the public bus (Achensee Regio-Bus) which you can ride for free with your reservation confirmation!
